From the records of Lamar #258 United Daughters of the Confederacy: Awarded Cross of Military Service on June 7, 1904. He served as Private, Co. C, 5th Regiment, Mississippi Cavalry Volunteers. His wife was Sallie Oliver Wall and their daughter was Maggie Wall Fox (Mrs. O.A. Fox), who was born 23 Aug 1895 in MS. *Alexander S. Wall received a pension #37410 from the State of Texas for his service in the Confederate Army. His wife, Sallie O. Wall received a pension #46164.

*THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, Tuesday, November 19, 1929, p.2: 'A. S. Wall, 84 years old, died Sunday night at 8:15 o'clock at his home, 119 North Twenty-sixth street, following an illness of almost a year's duration. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Manton-Fry funeral home, conducted by the Rev. W. M. Wright, pastor of the First Baptist church. Burial was at Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Wall, who was a member of the Confederate Veterans, was one of the pioneer restaurant men of the city. He retired in 1918 after 20 years continuous operation of cafes in Paris. Surviving are his wife, four sons, Manson Wall of Paris, Virgil Wall and Ed Wall of Greenville, and Henry Wall of Dallas; six daughters, Mrs. O. A. Fox and Miss Beulah Wall of Paris, Mrs. D. T. Jackson of Clarksville, Mrs. D. L. Smallwood of Dallas, Mrs. W. M. Mooney of Cumby, and Mrs. Harry Ellis of Los Angeles, California, and two grandsons, George Wall and Manson Wall, Jr. of Paris.' *Buried next to Sallie Oliver Wall. Note: Another grandson, Wondo Whitworth Wall of Greenville was not listed.
