Chris Block, 72, died at Nampa, Idaho, on Wednesday, June 6, 1973. He formerly lived in the Superior, Nebraska area and was a brother of Pete Block, Mrs. Christine Hanson and Mrs. P.E. Nielsen of Superior. Chris was born in Norre Kongerslev, Allborg, Denmark.
Funeral services were held at Nampa, Idaho on Friday and burial was there.
Besides the Superior relatives, he is survived by his wife Hazel; two sons, King Block of Ames, Iowa, and Chad Block of New York City, and another brother, Andrew Block, San Jose, Calif.
A daughter, Beverly, preceded him in death.

Anniversary patio supper hosted for Nampa couple

Don Sullivan of Nampa and friends hosted an anniversary patio supper for Mr. and Mrs. Chris Block of Nampa, in commemoration of the couple's 50th wedding anniversary.
Those attending the dinner included Sullivan, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Duro, Dr. and Mrs. William Meyer, Mrs. And Mrs. Wallie Pidgeon, Betty Genton, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Enberg, all of Nampa and Mrs. And Mrs. J. Stacey and Mr. and Mrs. T.V. White of Boise.
The former Hazel Milbourne was a school teacher at Superior, Neb., when she met Chris Block at a box social. They were married Sept. 1, 1922, in Davenport, Neb., at the home of Mrs. Block's parents, Dr. and Mrs. P.E. Milbourne.
Moving from Nebraska to Twin Falls in 1935, they lived there with their three children, Mrs. Beverly Sullivan, now deceased, King Block of Ames, Iowa, and Chad Block of Richfield Park, New Jersey. They have lived in Nampa for about 12 years.
They have eight grandchildren.

Their original family name was Andreason, then changed to Bloch, and later to Block.
