"Mrs. Jane Rankin died at her home at Elderton, Armstrong county, on January 21, 1899, aged 84 years, 9 months and 12 days. She is survived by eight children, six boys and two girls. Her husband died 25 years ago. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and the remains were interred at Shelocta on Monday."

D. of Armstrong township, and Lizzie, at home. The deceased was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church at Elderton. The funeral services were conducted at her home on the following Monday by her paster, Rev. Dunbar. Interment was made at Shelocta."
