Mary Elizabeth Clark was the daughter of Sarah Ann and William Wesley Clark. Although her gravestone and death certificate say she was born in 1856, according to the 1860 Hopkins Co, Texas census, Mary was age 6, making her born in 1854. Mary was 1/16 Creek Indian per the Dawes Rolls. Her father served in the Civil War for the Creek Nation. After her mother Sarah died, Mary was raised by Amanda and Owen Davis in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Mary married William O. Price on January 12, 1873, and to this marriage six children were born. After the death of her first husband, she married Francis A. Wineblood on Feb 15, 1890. After the birth of their daughter Laura in 1891, the family moved to Indian Territory, Checotah, Oklahoma. The Wineblood family had one more daughter, Evah, who was born in Checotah in 1893.
