Francis Augustus Wineblood came to the USA in 1880 from Sweden and settled in Texas in the Sulphur Springs area. His first marriage, to Lula Wadkins in 1884 ended with her untimely death in 1888. In 1890 he married Mary Elizabeth (Clark) Price in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins Co, Texas. After the birth of their first child, Laura, in 1891 they moved to Indian Territory, Checotah, Oklahoma, where in 1893 their second daughter Evah was born. For the next 30 years he earned his living first as a farmer, later a realtor, and was elected street commissioner for the city of Checotah, where today there is still a street named after him. During the depression years he eked out a living managing a livery stable. He and Mary spent their golden years living in Texas near Evah and her son Frank L. Parker.
