Adair W. "Al" Alexander, 80, of Freehold, died Thursday, Sept. 4, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Grand Island, Neb., he lived in the Freehold area for the past 40 years. Mr. Alexander was a district manager for Belding Lily Company, Charlotte, N.C. for 40 years, retiring 18 years ago. After his retirement, he was a counselor for five years for the New Hope Foundation, Marlboro Township. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 58 years, Eleanor Lakers Alexander; and his devoted children, Robert Adair Alexander and his wife Paula Kay Gilsdorf of Jackson, Miss., Bruce David Alexander and his wife Sarah of Forked River, Lacey, Marie Wilkinson and her husband Larry of Fair Haven, Kathy Grove of Bordentown, Judi Alexander and her companion Paul Rinear of Howell, and Sue Alexander of Milltown. He is also survived by eight loving grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold. Entombment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Mausoleum, Freehold. Donations in his memory to the Freehold First Aid Squad, 18 Spring St., Freehold, NJ 07728, would be appreciated.
