Hi Wendy and John,
I see from your FAG memorial that you are looking for some information on this individual and family:
1. Pierre (no other first name) CARLIN, born 15 Jan 1802, in Beutal (Doubs), France. Beutal is about 1.5 miles from Longevelle listed on the memorial.
Son of
**Pierre Étienne CARLIN (b. 2 June 1767, Beutal, m 18 Sep 1794, Beutal, d. 30 Oct 1838, Beutal) and
**Suzanne CHAVEY (b. 2 July 1772, Beutal, d, 3 Aug 1829, Beutal).
Please note that the 1767 and 1772 births above are in fact baptism certificates which are found in the Protestant registers of Beutal. The Carlin/Chavey are Protestant families.
2. Marriage: 14 Jan 1830, in Beutal with Marguerite MAURIQUE, born 26 Dec 1807, in Lougres (Doubs).
Daughter of
**Jean Georges MAURIQUE (b. 15 Feb 1768, Lougres, married 17 Aug 1798, Lougres, d. 21 Feb 1817, Lougres and
**Suzanne SAVOURE (b. 11 May 1770, Colombier Fontaine (Doubs), d. 3 Jan 1808, Lougres).
+The surname Schorey attributed to his wife Marguerite on his FAG memorial is probably due to a confusion with his own mother's name (Chavey) .
3. The couple has three children:
** Suzanne, 25 Apr 1832, Beutal
** Pierre Jacques, 6 Nov 1835, Beutal
** Jacques Jules, 14 Mar 1843, Beutal
Let me know that you do receive this message and whether you have any questions about this information.
Genealogically yours,
Martine Copeland
PS, I am not related to this individual." Thank you Martine!
