Theodore R. "Ted" Kubik was born November 16, 1903 in Caldwell, Kansas to Daniel and Millie Bobek Kubik.

He was united in marriage to Mary J. Hawk on August 15, 1928 at Caldwell where they made theire home before moving to Hutchinson, Kansas two years ago.

Ted worked for Shoffner Motor Co., as a auto service manager retiring in 1965. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Caldwell and also served on the Caldwell Fire Department as the Assistant Chief.

Ted passed away Friday, October 16th at his home in Hutchinson at the age of 88 years and 11 months.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; son, Alan Kubik of San Diego, California; daughter, Shirley Deterding and her husband Max, of Turon, Kansas; two brothers, Ben F. Kubik of Wichita and Karl W. Kubik of Cave Creek, Arizona; two granddaughters and two great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 1992 in the Caldwell City Cemetery with Rev. Russell Jolly of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Ted's granddaughter, Jane Deterding, sang "Friends".

Memorials may be given in memory of Ted to the Hospice of Reno County, 1701 East 23rd, Hutchinson, Kansas 67502.
