Clifford "Whitey" Allen

Nov. 9, 1943 - July 3, 2003


Clifford "Whitey" Allen, a former Cushing resident most recently residing in Hemet, Calif., died Thursday, July 3, in Tulsa at the age of 59 years,


The son of the late Jess Allen and Edith (Taylor) Allen, Whitey was born Nov. 9, 1943 in Cushing where he was raised.


Whitey was a member of the First Christian Church during his adult life in Cushing. He worked for many years in the oilfield in and around Cushing and was employed as a truck driver most of his time in California. Whitey enjoyed tinkering and growing tomatoes but was happiest when spending time with his grandchildren.


Survivors include his two sons, David Allen and his wife Kelly of Tigard, Oregon and John Allen and his wife Darla of Tulsa, OK; four granddaughters, Elizabeth and Erin of Tigard, Oregon and Bayle and Jentry of Tulsa, OK; four brothers, Gene Allen of Sedalia, Missouri, Orville(sic) Ray Allen of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Bill Allen of Cushing, and Jess Allen of Foyil, OK; He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, three sisters, Eva McClaskey, Betty Totcky, and Deloris Smith and three brothers, Bobby Allen, Jimmy Allen and David Allen, preceded Whitey in death.


Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, in the First Christian Church, Cushing with John Malget officiating.


Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.


In lieu of flowers, the family request that friends consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in Whitey's honor.
