Dau of Obediah and Leah (Winchester) Doster of Union Co., NC and wife of William Hough (see White Plains Cem., Jefferson, Chesterfield Co., SC), she bore him 3 daus and 7 sons of which 5 served with the CSA and 3 survived. Provenance of the photograph is: g-grdau Virginia Jordan Carroll > dau Esther Hough Jordan > son James Madison "Matt" Hough. Bears a striking resemblance to brother of Esther named Thomas C. who is buried next to Sarah at Elmwood.
