From the "Sundance Gazette" Sundance, Crook, Wyoming; April 21, 1893, page 4
BAIRD-MATTHEWS, at the residence of the brides's parents, Wm. M. Baird of Spearfish, S. Dak., was united in marriage to Miss Ada Matthews, of this city, on Sunday, the 16th inst. Rev. O. B. Chassell officiating.
The groom is known by nearly every one in the Black Hills. For several years he has been a director and cashier of the Crook County Bank. He also owns a large number of cattle in the western part of the county. Recently he moved to Spearfish to take the position of cashier of the First National Bank of that city.
The bride is the only daughter of the well known stockman and banker, T. N. Matthews. She has grown from childhood to woman's estate in our county, and she will be sadly missed by loving friends and relatives in this community.
After the ceremony which was performed in the presence of relatives and a very few invited friends, an excellent wedding breakfast was served, to which all did ample justice.
The bride and groom were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Matthews to Merino, at which place they took the afternoon train. They intend to proceed to Memphis, Tenn., via Kansas City, Mo., by rail where they will take a steamer to New Orleans, and from thence will go by water to Galveston, Tex., returning to San Antonio where they will visit relatives. They will reside in Spearfish.

MRS. WM. BAIRD DEAD
Mrs. Wm. Baird died suddenly at her ranch home in Weston county last Friday. She was affected with cramps as a result of drinking milk and expired before medical aid could reach her. Mr. Baird was alone with her when the sad affair occurred. The remains were shipped to Mrs. former home in Texas for burial.
The deceased was well known and highly esteemed in Sundance, where she attended school several years ago. She was the daughter of T. N. Matthews, proprietor of the T 7 cattle ranch on the Belle Fourche river. Four years ago she was united in marriage to Wm. Baird, who was at that time cashier of the Crook County Bank in this city. After failure of that institution they moved to Weston county, where Mr. Baird has extensive stock interests.
Their hosts of friends in Crook county extend heart felt sympathy to the relatives in their sore affliction.
