GRAVESIDE SERVICE FOR WAR VICTIM

BURIAL OF SGT. BOCKOVER IS SET FOR WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

Graveside rites for T-Sgt. Alfred R. Bockover, Twelve Mile, will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Skinner chapel cemetery, Twelve Mile, after it arrives here at 12:01 p.m. by train, Wednesday.

The local VFW and American Legion posts and Disabled American Veterans will be in charge of military rites at the grave. Officiating will be the Rev. Charles Fife of Twelve Mile. The McCain funeral home of Denver is in charge of arrangements.

The youth was killed on Oct. 27, 1944, in India when the plane in which he was taking off for a mission crashed. He was buried temporarily in the military cemetery at Decca, Bengal, India.

BORN AT TWELVE MILE

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bockover, he was born at Twelve Mile on Aug. 14, 1922. He was graduated from the Soldiers and Sailors high school at Knightstown in 1939 and in the following year he and two other youths started a newspaper at Russiaville. He entered the service in May, 1942, at Fort Harrison.

Surviving are the mother, Mrs. Edith Grether, Twelve Mile; two sisters, Mildred Bockover, Detroit; and Mrs. Hugh Harman, Indianapolis; three brothers, Ira, Anderson; Daniel, Bloomington; and Russell, at home; two half sisters, Mrs. Lewis Billiard, Indianapolis; and Mrs. Charles Stout, Kokomo; and a half brother, Leslie Roser, Doyline, La.
