Verl Arps
A graveside service will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland for Verl Arps, 65, who died Wednesday, July 20, 1994, at Evergreen Inn in Vancouver of liver disease.
Born Aug. 28, 1928, in Corsicana, Texas, Mrs. Arps lived most of his life in California before moving to Portland 15 years ago. For the last seven years, he lived in Vancouver. Mr. Arps was a chef. He was a member of St. Joseph's Grand Masonic Lodge and the Mystic Shrine, both in Los Angeles.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Portland; his daughter, Janessa of Portland; and two sisters, Susie L. Leonard and Mae Rutherford, both of Vancouver.
The casket will be open from noon to 8 p.m. today at Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel.
