Curtis A. Calder, 85, Science Hill, died Monday, September 14, 1992, at Humana Hospital Lake Cumberland, following a long illness.

A Casey County native, he was born June 15, 1907, son of the late William Albert and Mary Etter Terry Calder. He was a farmer and warehouse-man. He was a member and the oldest deacon of First Baptist Church, Science Hill.

His wife, Hattie Wilson, whom he married in February 1928, survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Donald L., Charles V., and Roger Calder, all of Somerset; three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Chestine) Wall, Yosemite, and Irene Powers and Jo Ann Calder, both of Science Hill; two brothers, Marvin Calder, Science Hill and Victor Calder, Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Marie Sweet, Cincinnati and Gertie Hargis, Manchester; 21 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter and Raymond Calder; three sisters, Mattie Calder, Dorothy York, and Sadie Anderson; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Science Hill, with Elders Morris Gaskin and Howard Prather officiating.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today and at the church Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time for services.
