Harlin Mesner Is Buried at Chandler, Minnesota, Sept. 5

Funeral services were held for Harlin Mesner Wednesday, September 5 at the Lutheran church, Chandler, Minnesota, with burial taking place in the Chandler cemetery. Harlin, who was raised in this community, lived near Germantown until his family moved to Minnesota in 1947. He was 21 years old at the time of his death, September 2. 1951.

Death was attributed to his failure to recover following a brain tumor operation at a Rochester, Minnesota hospital June 1. He had taken sick in May, 1950.

Pallbearers were Hillard Mueller, Alvin Beerman, James Lange, Louis Lange, Donald Stoterau and Merlin Stoterau.

Harlin Earl Mesner was born February 26, 1930 in Cherokee County, Iowa, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mesner (nee Tesch). After attending St. John school at Germantown, he drove a truck for his uncle, until moving to Minnesota with his parents.

On June 10, 1949 he was married to Velva Bjerke. They made their home at Chandler. To them were born two children, Faye and David. Surviving are his wife, Velva, two children, his parents, one sister, Mrs. Leonard Fiddelke (Betty), and a brother, Ronald, and other relatives.
