d/o Charles Hammond (d/ Apr 1822) & Elizabeth (Hammond) Hammond Stier

She had a brother, Charles Jonathan Hammond and half-sister Elizabeth Ann Stier.

Paternal grandparents: John Hammond

Maternal grandparents: Vachel Hammond and Mary "Polly" (Hammond)

Adelia was the first wife of Alpheus Marriott and her name appears on his NEW stone;

however, she is NOT buried with him; his second wife is buried with him.

St John's Cemetery has confirmed they have no record of burial or reburial for Adelia, only Alpheus and Barbara. The new stone was supposed to have replaced the old broken ones for Alpheus and his second wife, but they erroneously put his first wife on it.

Adelia had been listed as buried on her family's homestead, Black Castle, the Hammond Estate.

After the estate was sold, those graves there were reinterred to Fairmount in Libertytown.

[Hammond Family Genealogy page 221 has the recorded burials]

Holdcraft also had recorded Adelia in Fairmount Cemetery and photo of the old tombstone was taken at Fairmount.
