Father: Comfort STARR
Mother: Marah Weld (per Family Data Collection and other records; some trees have Rachel Harris)

DOB is 1673/74 -- March 24 being the day before the new year under the old Julian calendar. (England and its colonies did not change until Jan. 1, 1752, the same year that, in Sept., 11 days were skipped.)

Inscription: "Here lies intered [sic] the body of Mrs. Hannah Sage, once the virtuous consort of Mr. John Sage, who both are covered with this stone; and there have been added to the numerous offspring mentioned above 44 by birth and marriage, which makes the whole number 233. She fell asleep Sep 28 a.d. 1753 in the 80th year of her age." The original inscription was cut in a lead plate stolen to make bullets in the revolution, as was also the plate on the tablestone of Rev. Joseph Smith. The present insert of white marble was cut by Thomas A. Sage, born in 1845 Berlin, Connecticut.

Please note the transcription originally entered on this memorial has been corrected to reflect an earlier, published transcription stating Hannah was in her *80th* year, not 83rd. It's probable the person who entered the one previously shown inadvertently used the number from John's section of the gravestone.

Married John SAGE (b 1668) 10 Jan. 1693/4.

Hannah's will, inventory, probate and distribution records (a total of 28 pages) are now available through Ancestry.com and probably Family Search. In addition, a History of the Starr Family starting with Comfort Starr is available as a free download in multiple formats at https://archive.org/stream/historyofstarrfa00star#page/n11/mode/2up
