Mrs. Maie Shew Estep, age 84, widow of Raymond Arthur Estep, died Friday, September 19, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Estep was born April 15, 1924 in Bluefield, West Virginia to Milton and Agatha Call Shew. She retired from the Winston Salem Journal and Holly Farms. Mrs. Estep was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, John Estep.
Surviving are one son, Charles Estep of North Wilkesboro; five daughters, Racheal Laws of North Wilkesboro, Claudette Terry of Orlando, Florida, Sue Durham and husband Jerry of Burlington, Brenda Estep of Union Grove, Agnes Church and husband Henry, Jr. of Iron Station; one brother, Carl Shew and wife Charlotte of Pinnacle; nine grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 22, 2008 at New Hope Baptist Church in Moravian Falls with the Rev. Jonah Parker officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted.
Pallbearers will be William Estep Terry, Christopher Dale Hamby, Jeremy Allen Church, Henry A. Church, III, Jamie Lee Durham, Henry A. Church, Jr.
