Killed at A Ball Game
Ingnac Smeda, the 19 year old son of Andrew Smeda of Ashton died Tuesday morning Sept. 14, at one o'clock from the effects of injuries sustained while playing ball Sunday the 12th. The young man was fielding and in attempting to catch a high fly ran into another player bumping himself above the eye. He was apparently only badly jarred and went home where he lost conscientiousness and remained in this condition until his death. The supposition of the case is that a small artery of the brain was ruptured by the impact and a clot formed on the brain causing death.
