Robert Simpson, 59, of Vermilion, died at 6:26 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 13, 2005) at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind. He was a second miller at Cargill Grain Mill for 35 years. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday (Oct. 17) at the Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Vermilion Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Simpson was born Nov. 6, 1945, at Paris, the son of Seymour Bert Simpson and Margaret Oneita Rosenburg Simpson. He married Donna Lee Sharp on May 19, 1973, at Paris. She survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Darin Simpson and Jon Simpson, both of Paris; one daughter, Robyn Lea Jernigan of Vermilion; three sisters, Lulabelle Towell, Betty Garner and Susan Harris, all of Paris; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two sisters.
Mr. Simpson was a member of the Grain Millers Union.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to D.O. It! Edgar County Cancer Support Group or Success Christian Church.
