East Palestine Mrs. Doris Stepp, 74, of 3253 Creek Road, New Waterford, formerly of East Palestine, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Elizabeth Boardman Campus, where she had been a patient.
Mrs. Stepp was born August 4, 1933 in Hallsav, Switzerland, a daughter of the late John and Marie Schertenliev Haldiman, and had resided in the East Palestine area for most of her life, except for a period of time in Florida. She had been employed at one time with area potteries, and more recently as a cook with various restaurants in the area, prior to her retirement.
Her husband, Donald W. Stepp, whom she married April 19, 1958, preceded her in death August 19, 1991. Five brothers, Robert, Hans, Richard, Walter, and Fred Haldiman had also preceded her in death, as well as a sister, Anna Guy.
She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Bosley, Vero Beach, FL; and two sisters, Helen Dallies and Emma Houck, both of East Palestine. Two granddaughters, Leigh Ann and Shannon, also survive, along with three great grandsons, Derek, Ryan, and Jaxon.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Paxson of the Faith Chapel Fellowship, Salem, officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
