WILLARD HEADLEE
Willard L. Headlee, who owned and operated the Headlee Grocery in Eaton for 20 years, died Monday night at Birch Avenue Manor where he had beena patient for five days. He recently had made his home with a daughter in Ault.
Headlee was born in Polk County, Neb., on Dec. 28, 1889, and married Susie Remington in Fullerton, Neb., on Feb. 22, 1911. They farmed in Nebraska and Headlee worked for the railroad at Alliance, Neb., for eight years before they moved to Wellington in 1931. He moved to Eaton in 1936 and retired in 1956. Mrs. Headlee died June 12, 1957.
He attended the Eaton Foursquare Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. J. H. (Viola) Lightsey of Ault and Mrs. Leonard (Edna) Davis of Eaton; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. A son, Milford Headlee, died in 1966.
Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Thursday in the Macy Allnutt Eaton Chapel. Interment will be in the Eaton Cemetery.
If friends wish, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
Willard's parents were Levi S. and Mary Headlee.
In addition, Levi and Mary had five more sons:
Winfred, Clarence, Walter, Ray, and Charles.
