When Michael's sister Margaret got married in 1916, Michael baked and decorated the wedding cake.
Michael started working in the coal mines at a young age, but at some point he moved to Northern Indiana to work at the steel mills as an electrician to better support his family. It was a very foggy morning one day on his way to work and his car hit an abutment and burst into flames. He died of his burns.
