PETERSBURG - Mary Summers, 84, of Petersburg, died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Menard Convalescent Center. She was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Mason County to Osby and Della Trower McGee. Mary retired from the Department of Mental Health for the state of Illinois. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley (Mike) Willis of Petersburg; a grandson, David (Jennifer) Willis of Greenview; three great-grandsons, Ethan, Owen and Austin Willis of Greenview; and a sister, Laura Morrison of Petersburg. Her parents preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Free Church. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Petersburg. Pastor Dan Roseberry will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to ALS Association or Animal Protective League of Springfield. Online memorials may be made at www.hurleyfh.com.
