Mike Delahunty died Tuesday morning at the home of his son Charles after an illness of a week. Mr. Delahunty was 88 years old. He is one of Lexington's homesteaders, coming here from Missouri in 1867. He spent six years in Missouri after coming from Ireland, where he was born He was married to Miss Mary Levi of Tennessee while living in Missouri. He and Mrs. Delahunty lived on the homestead which was 3 miles southwest of Lexington several years he devoting most of his time to cattle raising. He also served many years as setion boss for the Union Pacific railroad company. Mr. Delahunty leaves to mour his death seven living sons and two daughters, thrity-three grandchildren and three great grandchildren Two sons, Tom and John preceeded him in death. His wife died seventeen years ago. His sons are Ed of Gothenburg Jim of Douglas, Wyoming, Matt of Elm Creek, Charles. W.L., Mike Jr., John, all of Lexington. His daughters, Mrs. Frank Coursey of Oklahoma and Mrs. W. J. Dermody of Kearney.
