Private John Coonrod/Company A, 11th Florida Regiment/John Coonrod, son of Joseph and Hester Coonrod, was born in Chester County, South Carolina on 30 Mar 1825 and he died in Jackson County, Florida, on 21 Feb 1912. John enlisted in Walter Robinson's Company on 15 Jan 1863. This Company was Company A, 11th Florida Regiment. On his last roll, he is listed as in hospital sick. His pension record states he was home on sick leave at the end of the war. John was surrendered on 11 May 1865, and was paroled on 23 May 1865, at Quincy, Florida.
