Don Black, 61, of Van Buren, died Monday, November 21, 2005 at the Summit Medical Center in Van Buren. A son of the late John Melton and Mary Lee Stringer Hardy, he was born July 1, 1944 at Kiser, Arkansas. He served a brief time in the United States Navy and was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, James Henry and Carl Wayne Hardy and Jessie Chesser; and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hardy and Cora Mae Manness. Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Dunn and Crystal Black; two sisters: Lillie Bishop of Van Buren; and Loraine White of Casa; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside service and burial will be 2 P.M., Monday at Booger Hollow Cemetery near Dover, by Rev. Harold Caldwell. Arrangements are by Shinn Funeral Service.
The family will receive friends Monday from 10 to 11 A.M., at the funeral home.
