Joseph W. Dixon passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs W.W. Barker at Rush Springs on 2/6/1937. He was born in Liverpool, England in 1849, moving with his parents to the U.S. in 1860 and located in St Louis, MO. He remained there for 20 years. Leaving there in 1880, he moved to Texas County, MO, where he met and married Lova Ann Harris in 1878 and they had 10 children. He moved his family to Oklahoma in 1901. His wife passed away in Tuttle 3/9/1909. One son and two daughters preceeded him in death. The children living are: J.L. Dixon of Tuttle, John G. Dixon of Tuttle, William R. Dixon of Albion, OK, Mrs W.W. Barker of Rush Springs, Mrs Lige Watley of Oklahoma City, Mrs Mary Campbell of Bethany, & Mrs J.D. Ray of Oxmod, Calif. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Tuttle Monday with Rev Moss Weaver. Interment was in the Tuttle cemetery with Sowers funeral home.
