William McDermott
MESQUITE, NEVADA - William McDermott, of Mesquite, Nevada, died Feb. 19, 2002, in St. George, UT after a long illness.

He was born Nov. 14, 1927, in Clifton, Idaho, to Laurence Eaton and Lona Mae Henderson McDermott. He married Betty Baker, March 31, 1950.

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was always there to bring a smile to the situation with his quick sense of humor. Bill and Betty farmed in Cornish, Utah, for many years. They moved to Bountiful, Utah in 1969 where he drove truck until he retired. In January of 2000, they moved to Mesquite, Nevada, where they lived at the present time.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Wendie (Mike) Nay, Richfield; Debra Murphy, St. Cloud, FL; five grandchildren: Susan Mahina (Tim) Rock, Hema William Tapa, Brandon William McDermott, Robert J. Murphy III, Kayla Dawn Nay; two sisters, Larna (Dale) Henderson and Ramona Harrington. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gilbert William McDermott.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2002, at 1 p.m. in the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 50 S. 100 W. in Richfield, where friends may call on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery with military rites by the Monroe American Legion Post #37
