Helen Callen -- She was born on June 24, 1922 in Sunnyside, Pa. to the late John and Julia Dolni Zahuranec. A Warren County resident since 1951 she had also lived in Meadville, Pa. She was a member of the Christian Fellowship of Youngsville, Pa. She belonged to the Warren Community Center.

She is survived by a son, John J. Callen and his wife, Natalie Y. Callen, of Savannah, Ga.; three brothers, Edward Zahuranec of Mercer, Pa., Rehart G. Zahuranec of Sharpsville, Pa., and Dennis S. Zahuranec of Tallahassee, Fla.; two stepgrandchildren, Eric Cheong and Heather Cheong. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Elwood Callen, who died Sept. 4, 1976, and whom she married August 4, 1945 in Clarion, Pa; six brothers, Andrew Zahuranec, Ralph Zahuranec, Vincent Zahuranec, John Zahuranec, Frank Zahuranec and Albert Zahuranec; and two infant brothers. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Jerry Lamey officiating. Burial will follow in Sligo Cemetery, Sligo, Pa. Memorial donations may be made to the Warren County Humane Society, 2 Elm St., Warren, Pa. 16365 or the ALS Association (Lou Gehrig Disease) National Office, 27001 Agoura Rd., Suite 150, Calabasas Hills, Calif. 91301.

Personal Note - Ethel, who was married to my father's first cousin, was also the sister of my uncle Ralph, who was married to my father's sister.
