Born in Jefferson, she was a daughter of the late John and Minnie Byrd Holly. She was a member of Green Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Belk Department Store.

Surviving are her husband, Woodrow Lingle of West Columbia [now deceased]; daughter; sister Mrs. Olin Byrd of Kershaw [now deceased]; grandsons; and great-grandchildren.
