ABSTON , MRS . DELTA HUDDLESTON - age 97 of Harriman passed away Sunday, October 26 , 2008 at The Bridges at Rockwood formerly Rockwood Healthcare. Delta was a faithful member of Trenton Street Baptist Church and a charter member of Ladies Roane Kerbela Shrine Club and also was a 50 year member of Laurel Chapter 22 O.E.S. in Harriman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Modester Abston ; son, General Thomas Abston ; parents, Horace and Lou Wright Hussleston; five brothers, Howard, Ralph, Wayne, Ward and Lawrence Huddleston; two sisters, Thelma Russell and Gladis Wilson. She is survived by one son, Robert Abston and wife Catherine of Orlando, Florida; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Scarbrough of Rockwood and Blanch Davis of Harriman and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 30, 2008 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Davis Funeral H o me, H arr iman. Funeral services will follow in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Trenton St. Baptist church or Kerbela Shriners of Roane County. Davis Funeral Home, Harriman, serving the family of Mrs. Delta Huddleston Abston.
