Alice Marcella Spring
Alice M. Spring, 100, Villlsca, was born to Albert H. and Mattie M. Stinemates Embree July 10, 1896 in Montgomery County near Grant, She died April 5, 1997, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Villisca. She attended school in Grant and graduated from Grant High School.
On March 10, 1915, she was married to Clifford D. Lee at Grant. He died July 10, 1943.
She was married to Johann Jakob Spring January 2, 1947, at Corning. He died September 18, 1967.
Mrs. Spring was a homemaker. She had worked as a seamstress at Turner's Department Store for many years. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
She was preceded In death by her parents; both husbands; daughters Lois who died in infancy and Alberta.
Survivors include her daughters Annabelle (husband Judd) Griffith, Villisca, Charlesa Allen, Wheatland. Wyo., and Wylma (husband Loren) Bowlin, St. Peters, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 61 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild.
Services were held April 9 at the First Presbyterian Church in Villisca with the Rev. Sandra Wainwright and Pastor Albert Baker officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery at Corning.
Casket bearers were Gary Page, Steven Kimpson, Russell Kimpson, Raymond Kimpson, Stanley Kimpso, and Charles Griffith. Honorary bearers were James Allen, Ross Griffith, and James Griffith. Memorials are to the Good Samaritan Care Center of Villisca.
