Born Dec. 15, 1912, in Scrubgrass Township, he was the son of George and Millie Vuchkovich Paich.
Mr. Paich served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired as a pipefitter for Polk Center and also worked as a boiler tender for Mooney Chemical and Socony Mobile.
Mr. Paich was very active in the Mount Carmel Church where he held various offices and took care of the church grounds for several years. He was known for growing some of the best strawberries in the area. Mr. Paich was an avid bowler for years at Recreation and Seneca Lanes.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Paich was preceded in death by an infant son, Nicholas Wayne Paich; six sisters, Mildred Wirtitsch, Mary Kammerdeiner, Millie Switzer, Helen Paich, Stella Haig and Patricia Paich; and one brother, Micho Paich.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home
with the Rev. Mike Mallis, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Franklin, officiating. Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the VNA Foundation.

Nick was a loving and faithful servant of God, who served in his community in Sandycreek Township. He was a dedicated member of the Mt. Carmel Church on the Pittsburgh Road.
