Author, Motion Picture Screenwriter and Director. In college, he majored in anthropology. From there, he went on to become one of the most popular American novelists of the late 20th century; his works have sold over twenty million copies. His most famous novel, 1990's "Jurassic Park," sparked a motion picture franchise that includes six films, merchandise and billions of dollars in revenue. Two of his other novels, "The Andromeda Strain" (1969) and "Sphere" (1987), were also adapted into motion pictures. He wrote the screenplay and directed the 1973 science fiction movie "Westworld." In all, he published twenty-eight novels.
