Son of Arthur & Mary Bevin from Gloucester, England. Was married to Experience Cornwell then Elizabeth Eames. He had 11 children. He is represented to have been a man of great vigor and health, never sick a day until after he was 100 when he was thrown from a horse and injured, after which he was confined until his death. Tradition says he was a shoemaker, and after the death of his last wife resided with his grandson Elijah.
