The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, at Osceola Baptist Church by Rev. Randall Shaw and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was the wife of the late Rufus Lee Atkins, and was born in 1913, in Surry County to the late Ed and Piney Childress. Cora was a member of Osceola Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Foley Childress; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy and Billy Atkins.
