Suggested edit: BIO for John Lynn: John came to Canada in 1911 to work on the Canadian Pacific Railway in British Columbia and he travelled back to China in 1918 to find a wife. He married Hew Shee, in an arranged marriage and he had to pay the federal government mandatory Chinese head tax of $500. to bring her to Canada in 1920. Once settled in Ontario the couple started to raise a family and ran restaurants. They were often the only Chinese family in the community and they moved frequently, until settling in Kitchener and operating Tops Tavern on College Street. John had amazing community spirit and supported the Kitchener Down Town, in every way possible.
