A. S. (Bert) Dimick, 73, retired farmer and stockman, died at
9:15 a. m. Sunday at his home in Montpelier following an
illness. He was born May 25, 1887 in Wardboro, the son of
Albert W. and Ida Stuart Dimick. Mr. Dimick was a member of
the LDS Church. He served as president of the Montpelier-
Preston Irrigation company, andfor many years was a trustee
of the Wardboro district school. He was a member of Montpelier
Lodge No 858, LOOM. Mr. Dimick and Maud Effie Dayton were married
on March 22, 1911. An infant son, Cal, preceded him in death. He
had resided in Wardboro until moving to Montpelier 3 years ago.
Besides his widow he is survived by eight daughters and two
sons, Mrs. Dallas (Vanda) Mason of Twin Falls, Mrs. Theodore
(LaRue) Skinner of Butte, Dayton S. Dimick and Orval Dimick, both
of Wardboro, Mrs. Shirley (Adell) Black of Georgetown, Mrs. D. C. (Delilah) Olds, and Mrs. I. D. (Mary) Taylor of Salt Lake City,
Mrs. Nellie King and Mrs. Cecil (Lula) LaRocco, both of Montpelier, and Mrs. Dale (Ruth) Kirby 61 Preston, Also surviving are two
sisters, Mrs. Pearl D. Bundy and Mrs. Rollo (Vera) Derricott,
both of Montpelier, and one half-brother, Boyd Dimick of
Bellflower, California; 29 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Bishop Winslow Swensen conducted funeral services at 1 p. m.
Wednesday in the Third-Fifth Ward Chapel. Invocation was by
Bishop J. Clarence Lindsay; vocal duet, "In the Garden," Mrs.
Eugene Wilcox and Mrs. Reed Lowe, accompanied by Mrs. Lester
Armatage; obituary and remarks, Bishop Swensen; speaker,R. K.
Nelson; vocal solo, "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine," Max Haddock; speaker. Bishop Clifford Skinner; vocal duet, "Beyond the Sunset," Mrs. Walter Hunzeker and Bishop Swensen, accompanied by Marilyn
Swensen; benediction, Jacob C.
Jensen. Prayer at the mortuary was by Dale V. Kirby. Prelude and postlude were played by Marilyn Swensen. Interment was in the
Wardboro Cemetery, where the grave was dedicated by Bishop Golden
Keetch and graveside services were conducted by LOOM No. 858. Pallbearers were Clifford Mason, Gary Black, Harold Black, Blake Hirschi, Terry Derricott, and James Derricott. The Matthews Mortuary was in harge of arrangements.
