Wyoming-Florence C. Shane, 98, of St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Lacon, Formerly of Wyoming, died Friday morning at the nursing home.
Born Oct. 21, 1889, in Valley Township, Stark County, to Patrick and Margaret Stanley Colgan, she married Joseph Shane on April 10, 1912. He died in 1962. She was also preceded in death by one son, one daughter, five grandchildren, four sisters and one brother.
Surviving are five sons, Nelson of Chillicothe, Leonard and Edmund, both of Wyoming, Maurice of Staten Island, N.Y., and Robert of Galesburg; five daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) McGarvey and Mrs. Charles (Dolores) Donovan, both of Wyoming, Mrs. Leonard (Joan) Sendelbach and Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Sendelbach, both of Henry, and Mrs. Thomas (Ann) Donovan of Chillicothe; 73 grandchildren; 120 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Wyoming and its altar and rosary society.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at her church. The Rev. John Thua will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 today at the funeral home, with rosary at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Dominic’s Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Lacon.
