Arcola was the daughter of Paul Prather and Anna Mae Yaeger.
She graduated in 1939 from Wirt County High School in Elizabeth, WV. During World War II she worked as a riveter at Republic Steel in Canton, OH working on B-24 stablizers.
She received nurse's training at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, VA between 1945-1947 and worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement. She also completed stewardess training.
Arcola was a member of the Alexander Macomb Chapter, NSDAR in Mount Clemens, MI.
