MARIE B. (STRAINE) FAULKNER, was born in Carroll County, AR, December 1, 1917. She went to be with the Lord March 7, 2008, in Bentonville, AR, at the age of 90. She was the daughter of John M. Straine and Estella H. Hackworth-Straine. Her mother passed away at the age of twenty-three. She and her two brothers were reared in Eureka Springs by their grandmother, Nancy P. Straine. Mrs. Faulkner was a beauty operator for years and was licensed in three states. She then served in the United States Military in the Women's Army Corp. during WWII. She married Al Cy Mazeikis and lived in Chicago for thirty years. Four daughters were born to this union: Nancy, Rosemarie, Carol, and Joyce. Marie loved the Lord, having become a Christian as a teenager. She was a member of the Weslyan Methodist Church in Chicago, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was always ready to serve the Lord where needed. She dearly loved her little poodle, Faila, whom was her constant loving companion for twelve years. She also loved birds, gardening, reading the bible, visiting with her family, and talking about the Lord.

She moved back to Eureka Springs after the death of her husband, Al, in 1972. She then married Alton Faulkner in 1973. They later divorced in 1985, but still remained close. She worked as a cook at the Eureka Springs Hospital for eleven years, before retiring. She then moved to Osage Heights in Bentonville, AR in April of 2001. She then moved to Gardens at Osage Assisted Living in Bentonville, AR in January of 2008.
