Weekly Chronicle-Record, July 11, 1891: "Another Child Dead. A few days ago this paper gave an account [newspaper not extant] of the death of two children of Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Dyer, of Dayton. Yesterday they were called upon to surrender another of their children, Carl M., aged 11 years, who died of the same disease, diphtheria. Three of their children are living, but all of them are now down with the same dreaded disease that has taken the others from these afflicted parents."

Earliest Death Records, copied from death certificates, burial permits, and removal slips, filed chronologically in small packets at the courthouse in Oroville. Published in the Paradise Genealogical Society's Goldmine. "Dyer, Ernest, male, white, b. Ca., age 2 yrs, d. 3 July 1891 in Chico, Ca. of diphtheria."

Lot purhased by Henry A. Dyer on April 10, 1917
