Theresia Wilhelm was born in Sulz, Baden, Germany on September 10, 1821. She immigrated to the U.S. aboard the steamship Emperor, with her brothers, arriving in New York on September 27, 1852. In 1855, she met George W. Krebs in the area of Lima, Ohio; they married on September 1st of that year in Montgomery County, Ohio. The couple first moved to De Pue, Illinois, and then to Manlius Township, Illinois, where they began farming. In her later years, Theresia lived in Walnut, Illinois. She died at the home of her daughter, Caroline (Mrs. Christian) Schuneman, near Manlius, Illinois on September 9, 1909.
