Martha was one of twelve children born to William Martin and Nancy (Grady) Ingram. Martha was married three times. First to James Tabor who died in Ozark County, MO in 1875. They had one child, Jennie Ann, born December 1876 in Ozark Co., Missouri. Her second husband was David Dutcher Forest. They had seven children. David died 1904 in Pittsburg County, OK. Her third husband was John B. Herd of Ozark County, MO. He died in 1918. After his death she returned to Oklahoma, where two of her sons resided. She also resumed using the surname Forest.
