David was the fourth son born to James and Freelove Aurilla (Dutcher) Forrest. David served in the Union 46th MO Infintry. He was shot and lost an eye. David first married Mary Elizabeth Hoodenpyle about 1860. She died in 1877 from complications of childbirth after their 7th child was born. He married Martha Ingram 14 Mar 1883 in Ozark County, Missouri. They also had seven children. It is believed he is buried in Quinton Cemetery in an unmarked grave.
