Mrs. Esther Abert, for forty years a resident of Massena, was found dead in her bed at her home on Maple Street Saturday morning about 5:00 o'clock, having passed away sometime during the night while she slept, evidently without a struggle or pain. The funeral was held from her late home Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, Rev. George C. Graham, of St. John's Church officiating and the remains were buried in the family pot in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Abert's maiden name was Esther Harris, and she was born in the town of Louisville March 28, 1847, being a daughter of the late Daniel Harris. Her early life was spent in her native town and about forty years ago she came to Massena, which had since been her home.

She is survived by two sons, Frank Haverstock and Orlan D. Abert, of Lenox, MA, and two daughters, Mrs. Charles P. Ferguson and Mrs. Barney Kiirkey of Massena; also two brothers, Howard Harris of Raymondville, and Richard Harris of Chicago and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Brown, of Raymondville.
