The father of ten children with Margaret (Senn) Meyers. He was born in the Biederbach area near Freiburg in Baden. His parents were Nicholas and Kathrina (Burger?) Meyer/Mayer. He emigrated to America in 1854 to Fond du Lac Co. and then lived in Dodge Co., and lastly, Columbia Co., Wisconsin before moving to Grant Co., South Dakota in 1885 with his wife and an unknown number of his children. Two children may have died prior to or during his move to the Dakota territory. His last name may also be spelled as Meyer. His children that are not listed below are Alfred Meyers b. 1864- d. unk.; August Meyers b. 1870 d. unk.; George Meyers b. Mar. 1875 d. after 1940; and Henry Meyers b. Feb. 1878 d. after 1910.
