Funeral rites were held on Tuesday, October 21, at the Union church for Fred Koop, 44, who died suddenly Saturday morning at nine o'clock, while he was at work at the Central Cooperative Turkey Producers plant.

Fred Koop, son of Wiebrand and Eka Koop was born on March 31, 1908, on the parental Koop farm home 5 miles southeast of Kamrar, and he passed away October 18, 1952, at the age of 44 years, 6 months and 16 days.

He attended public school and grew to manhood in the Kamrar community. He was baptized in the First Presbyterian church of Kamrar and was a member until he moved to Ellsworth at which time he transferred his membership to the Trinity Lutheran church.

He was united in marriage to Thelma Torgerson on October 10, 1928. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Dean Buckels (Hazel) of Webster City and Wayne at home.

They resided in the Kamrar community until 1942 when they moved to Ellsworth.

Besides his immediate family, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. W. W. Koop of Kamrar, two brothers and six sisters, Mrs. Sam Huisman (Harmka) of Hillsdale, Wisc., Mrs. Joe Rigter (Jessie) of Kamrar, Mrs. Wm. Naber (Jennie) of Webster City, Mrs. H. Naber (Eka) of Kamrar, Mrs. James Greenfield (Janette) [Jeanette] of Kamrar, Mrs. Lawrence Stopplemore [Stoppelmoor] (Wilma) of Blairsburg, Paul of Kamrar and Andrew of Iowa Falls. He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, and one sister.

Mr. Koop was a kind and loving husband and father. He was held in high esteem by all who knew him.

Homer Danielson, Vernon Peterson, Mrs. Leonard Lindebak and Mrs. Merlyn Olson sang two songs at the service and Mrs. Lindebak and Mrs. Olson sang a duet. Mrs. Curtis L. Thoreson played the organ.

Casket-bearers were Omer Olson, Irwin Williams, LeRoy Marcus, Jr., Emery Tegland, Clifford Grund, and Leonard Westwick.

Burial was at the First Presbyterian church cemetery at Kamrar.
