Ralph "Bud" Hammons, 68, of Harrison, died Sunday, Nov. 30 (2008) at his home.

Service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at Batavia Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Burial will be at Grubb Springs Cemetery.

The son of the late Ralph Hammons, Sr. and Bobbie (Mitchell) Hammons was born Sept. 30, 1940, at Jacksboro, Texas. He was the husband of Jo Marie (Waits) Hammons.

Visitation 6-8 P.M. Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Services are 1 P.M. Friday, December 5, 2008 with Rev. Tollie Sutterfield and Pastor Bill Burris officiating. Burial will be in Grubb Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are Terry Yeager, Larry Davis, Donnie Jackson, Joel Goats, Ralph Watkins,and Mike Stewart. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Greenough, Ralph Kroamer, and Dean Aumsbaugh.

Bud's survivors are his wife of 49 years, Jo Marie (Waits) Hammons of the home; daughters, Bobbie Jo Hammons of Harrison and Lynette (Hammons) Coleman of Pyatt; sisters, Jody Davis of Republic, Mo. and Karen Gates of Springdale; three grandchildren, Stephanie and husband, Jason Krueger of Branson West, Mo., Brandon Lee and wife, Jordan of Harrison and Dana and husband, Ben Burns of Harrison; and five great-grandchildren, Julia, Tyler, Nathan, Benjamin and Grady. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Bud had lived in this area most of his life and was a member of Batavia Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed going to car shows, meeting with his buddies for coffee, and spending time with his wife and family. He also enjoyed reading the Bible and living for the Lord. He was a member of the Republican National Committee..
